Has anyone used the bus tranportation from the airport to the train station? I read there are two types one private one public, any idea on which is better? We are twelve and need to catch a train to Verona that night.
Kathy, With a group of 12, This Bus is probably the easiest and least expensive option. It will likely drop passengers at the side of Milano Centrale, so you'll have to walk around to the front and up the stairs to reach track level. Do you have your tickets to Verona yet? Also, have you researched the transportation to get from Verona Porta Nuova to your Hotel? Happy travels!
Ken thank you that helps and yes I already purchased our train tickets on line to Verona. The hostel told us to take a bus to their site. Taking 8 girls to Italy has been a challenge. The only thing left to decide is should I bring enough euros for the bus or look for a ATM when I get there.
Kathy, Although it should be easy to find an ATM at the airport, I'd suggest packing some Euros to take care of transportation or snacks on the trip. Everyone will be tired and probably a bit "cranky" when you arrive, and it will be chaos while everyone finds their luggage and gets organized. I assume you've got all the details arranged regarding ATM cards or credit cards for your group (ie: funds in a chequing account with a four-number PIN, notify all card issuers before departure)?
Unless you are arriving in the afternoon make certain the shuttle you choose is running during the evening or even later. We had a very frustrating experience on a Friday night on May 17th at 8:30 to arrive at Linate and find that the shuttles had shuttered for the day along with any
tabbachi selling bus tickets. Not a fun experience.
Thanks I will call them tomorrow.
