Lightweight, wrinkle resistant, NICE dress pants for men?

In 10 days, I'm traveling to southern Italy and am desperately trying to find a pair of blue or black lightweight, wrinkle resistant, men's dress pants that won't make me roast in the hot weather, and are nice enough to wear with a blazer at night. I'm looking for something nicer than Dockers or chinos. Any price range is okay. Any thoughts? I would be very grateful for any suggestions at all. Thank you,
Ron

As my wife would suggest... just buy them here! There are many shops that will tailor/alter any clothing you buy. I've had "lost luggage" challenges that forced me to buy locally... and those purchases actually became some of my most comfortable and durable clothes. Italians definitely know how to make beautiful clothing! And you can always say, "Oh these, I picked them up in Italy!"

Ciao,
Ron

I would avoid 100% cotton. My dress slack is a Savane. a synthetic blend from Sams Club, about $15. Second, you might see if the Travel Adventure line at REI would appeal to you. A little less dressy but it is my second and back up for dress if necessary.

You can buy them in Italy, or just to make sure, the tropical weight wool slacks at Brooks Brothers are great for hot weather (they are made of Italian wool cloth)...much cooler than cotton, and much dressier than the sythetic sport slacks with zip off leg bottoms.

For our trip last month, I found some Tommy Hilfiger "travel pants" at our local Costco for a great price -- about $20 each as I recall. I had two pair with me in Italy, and I liked them. They're synthetic so they weigh quite a bit less than cotton khakis, look great, and when I washed them in the hotel sink they dried in about 15 hours (and even faster when the bathroom had a window that opened). I don't recall all the colors they had, though -- I only wore khaki and olive.

You might also look for stores that carry golf slacks, but those tend to be pricey.

I don't think anyone suggest sport pants with zip off legs.

Okay, you want dress pants, not zip-off leg pants. I want to know what you have against Dockers. :-) Dockers are definitely nice enough for any restaurant you might want to go to in southern Italy. I would stay away from dark colors because those absorb heat from the sun like you would not believe. I would go with gray or tan Docker types with a poly-cotton blend to avoid wrinkles. So how about taking a nice pair of new Dockers so have them right at the start, and follow Ron's suggestion and buy a pair of pants once you get there?
