Lido di Ostia accommodations

We will be flying into Rome next spring and wondered about staying here for a couple days to get through our jet lag before touring Rome. Ostia Antica looks like a great place to explore and we thought the beach would be quiet and relaxing. This is our first trip to Italy, so any feedback or suggestions for specific places to stay would be great! We have two teenage boys, so would love recommendations for apartments.

The Ostia Lido isn't a very good beach. It works if you only have a day and don't want to spend a lot of time traveling. If you are going to overnight I'd head to Sperlonga where there is a great beach. It's about an hour by train from Rome.

Thanks for the suggestion! We're just really looking for a place to catch our breath before settling in Rome for a couple nights and it seemed like a place on the coast would be nice. Any other nearby suggestions?

There is a Bed and Breakfast called Anne's Place that has been mentioned on this board a couple of times. It is near Rome and looks very pretty & restful. Google it.
