We thankyou for all your help on our first trip to Italy. We are going to be in Rome for one night before flying to Lamezia the next morning. Reading many of the postings it would seem that Ostia might be the place to spend the night before getting our flight the next morning from FCO. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to stay. Something in the $100 range. We called Hotel Ping Pong and they quoted us 70 Euros. appreciate all your help

We stayed in Lido di Ostia the night before a flight out of FCO. It's a great location. We had a car and it took only 10 or 15 mins to get to the airport. Rush hour traffice could add time 15 to 20 mins. though. I can't remember the name of the hotel we stayed in, but if I can find it I will email it to you. We had rooms with balaconies overlooking the sea, and, as I recall, it was reasonable. We were there at the end of the season (October) and it was only one of a few hotels still open.
