I am not finding much info on Lido Beach. we have a 10 year old so going to the beach this week would be fun. can we buy/rent towels? do you rent the chairs along the beach or is it first come first served? is it a private beach do we pay to access it? thank you for any advice.
Not sure if the beach concessions establishment sell towels. Some do some don't, but I'm sure there will be shops that do nearby. Beach access is free and the first 5 meters from the water edge is state property and is always a public area. However you cannot plant your own umbrella or set up chairs either. The first 5 meters must be left unencumbered. More than 5 meters away from the water, it could be a portion of the beach given in concession to an establishment. If you want to stay there, you need to pay for the umbrella and chairs rental. If it's a portion of the beach that is not given in concession, then it is a spiaggia libera (free public beach). That area is public and free, but you need to bring your own umbrella and chairs.
The Lido has plenty of area that is "spiaggia libera" (free beach) but if you don't want to buy your own chairs and umbrella, it wouldn't be a bad idea to rent a spot at a confession facility for the day. You can even rent beach beds, cabins and little bungalows.
thank you fir the info!!!
