Liberation Day, April 25th, in Italy.

I'm trying to find out more about what would be closed on this day, specifically in Palermo.
It appears to be a civic holiday, and presumably there will be some ceremonies marking the day.
Just want to make sure we are able to take transport such as buses, as we had planned to go to Monreale that morning.
I'm thinking there might just be Sunday service for public transport that day?
What about shops, supermarkets, etc?

Thank you for any information!

In the city center pretty much everything will be open and also near the Monreale basilica.
The buses will also be working, albeit on a 'Festivi' (Sunday and Holiday) schedule, which for city buses is not much different from a "Feriale" (workday) schedule.
