I know banks and government offices will close for Liberation Day, but what about museums and restaurants? (Laurel??)

It makes little impact in the tourist areas. Small shops in the residential neighborhoods may close. To be certain on any particular museum, go to their website and check. Restaurants benefit from these holidays as the Italians will be out in force, too.
May 1 is a bigger problem in museums. After Christmas, it is the second most likely date of closure.
