Yikes! Despite carefull planning my 10 day return trip to Italy this spring includes 2 holidays! We'll be in Montalcino for April 25th Liberation Day and traveling from Firenze to Roma in May1, Labor Day. I saw a few postings from a couple of years back - how much of a disruption should we expect? Our biggest problem that I can see is that the Vatican will be closed on May 1st so we're forced to visit there on Wednesday which I hoped to avoid due to the Pope's audience. Should I be prepared to encounter protests in Rome on Labor Day? Thougts?
