So our Capital one has coverage for what we do to the vehicle "supposedly". How do we get liability insurance. It won't cover what happens to other cars? Is this a thing in Italy. We leave Saturday and our car is already booked through Alamo.

When you rent a car in Italy you will get liability coverage included. Ditto for Germany. It’s the law. And the coverage will very likely be far more than whatever you have at home in the US or Canada.

Be sure to check about the CDW with Cap One. Many credit cards EXCLUDE Italy as a location where coverage applies.
