Letojanni Sicily- Buses and Trains to Taormina

How often do the buses run from Letojanni to Taormina. How long does the journey take and do you pay for your ticket on the bus. Where should you get off in Taormina. The train station in Letojanni and Taormina are they both in the centre of the resorts. How often do the train runs and are there ticket offices at both stations or do you use a machine. Thank you for any help we are staying in Letojanni next month. Any information will be appreciated our first visit to Sicily.

This is a very short distance to travel. You can use the Rome2rio.com site for travel options. The train ride takes less than 10 minutes and the website doesn't show a bus (though there may well be one). I just picked a random day in May and there were 6 trains listed between 11 am and 4 pm. Just go the trenitalia.com site (choose English) and you can see the times. Since it is a regionale train it only costs $1.70 each way. Should be a machine at the station though not a guarantee. If not there, usually a travel agency can sell you tickets.

The train station serving Taormina is not near the part of town you probably want to see, unless you just want to go to the beach at Giardina-Naxos. There's bus service from the train station up to the town. If there's bus service available to you at Letojanni, that might prove more convenient.

When I was in Sicily in 2015 you simply paid the driver of the bus when you got on at the train station. It was really funny; there was no sign on the bus showing the fare, so every single traveler had to pause to ask the driver about the cost before fumbling through a handful of change to come up with the right amount--and I don't remember what the right amount was. (Insert joke about Italian efficiency here.)
