Leonardo3 Museum in Milan

I am planning to visit this LDV museum in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele arcade but I don't want to commit to a particular time. The website pushes viewers to buy the ticket in advance. Is this necessary? Are there long lines?

I am also wondering how this compares to the Science Museum which has exhibits by many others as well as LDV. Has anyone been to both?

We went to the museum in July. We just showed up in the evening and bought tickets. Hopefully, it will be cooler inside the museum than when we went. It was broiling hot in the museum - no air conditioning and only 1 window that I remember with a little outside air. If you don't get to see it I wouldn't be too upset about it. It shows some of his inventions made from the drawings Leonardo did in his lifetime and shows the Last Supper and Mona Lisa with conservation that has been done and what the paintings originally looked like. It is not a must do in Milan but if you have the time and are in the vicinity it was interesting however, my kids got bored with it all in about 15 minutes!

We did not go to the Science Museum. We were only in the LDV museum in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.

Thanks, Jeannie. We are not taking children with us, so perhaps our experience will be different.
