I see a reference to Leonard Express or Leonardo express; could someone explain what this term means? thanks, kathy
The Leonardo Express is a train in Rome, Italy. It runs in both directions between FCO airport and Termini train/metro/bus station.
The name Leonardo Express refers to the fact that Fiumicino was called Leonardo Di Vinci airport.
The Milan train goes to the Cadorna Station, which is closer to the Duomo and other sites than the Main train station in Milan
There are 3 airports in Italy that have express trains from the airport to the main train station. They simply run back and forth between the airport and the main station. Fiumicino airport outside of Rome is one. This express train is called the Leondardo Express. In Pisa, it's the Galileo Express. I think the third airport is in Sicily.
You also have a train in Milan but don't remember the name.
Milan Malpensa does have a train that runs into Milan but it doesn't run to the main train station. It goes to another train station and you take the metro to get to the main station.
And it's called the Malpensa Express.
remember, when riding any train, VALIDATE YOUR TICKET!! Put the end of your ticket in the yellow or red machines that look like time clocks. It time and date stamps it so that when the conductor comes by to check your "biglietto", you don't get a 50 euro fine (yes, that was fifty)!! We forgot to do that once and got nailed. :(
