Hello. Has anyone been to the Lemon Festival in Monterosso? It's the third Saturday in May. I'm trying to decide if it's worth skipping a day in Venice to be to the Cinque Terre in time? Thanks for any feedback in advance. :-)

That's quite a long journey from Venice to Monterosso if you plan to stay just a day there. They sell lemons in Venice too.

Can anyone confirm the date of the Lemon Festival? RS site says May 18 (Sunday), other sites say the 17th which is Saturday. I'm planning a day trip from Florence and need to be sure. Thanks!

Hi Linda,
When I booked my room in Vernazza the nice man told me the Lemon Fest is going to be Saturday, May 17th. From what I've heard the fest will spill over to Sunday but Saturday is the biggest day with more activities and local participation. Hope that helps.... :-)

Check with Ivo Basso to see if he has a room available. I found him on tripadvisor and had a easy time booking a room through him. Only 80 euro per night. It's not an ocean view room but it's affordable, right in town and clean. My impression while booking last month is that he has 2 new rooms this year. But his reviews are great!

Just make sure you find what floor the rooms on. Made a mistake and found myself on the 4th floor dragging a carry on and suit case. Ok if you are young but I was 71 . Steep stairs...

Thanks for the tip Judith, all the reviews mention that the owner, Ivo, graciously carries your bags up the stairs to the room. :-)
