Taking buses from Matera to Martina Franca. The first bus stops in Taranto, and there are buses departing from there every half hour that go on to Martina Franca. Would like to take advantage of my time in Taranto to walk around and see the city. Unfortunately, I will have my luggage with me. Is anyone aware of a left luggage locker or facility in Taranto where i can leave my baggage between buses? Thank you for your advice once again! Gerri

The Seat61 website says there is nothing at the train station and doesn't offer an alternative, so I doubt there is a place billing itself as a luggage-storage facility. There's a pretty good chance that you can find a bar or other establishment nearby that will allow you to leave your bag for awhile. I'd tip a minumum of €2, longer if I left the bah there for hours. But if the establishment doesn't regularly offer the service, it may refuse your tip.
Another possibility would be frojt-desk staff at a hotel. The hotel needs to be large enough that there's room for your bag and for the desk to be staffed all day, so you can pick up your bag when you want to. I don't know whether there's such a place in Taranto near the bus station,
