Taking a train from Venice to Rome; would like to make a stop in Bologna...with 4 pieces of luggage. Is it safe to leave? I understand that it's a 'luggage room' and not a private locker...
Thanks!
I guess, but I would leave plenty of time to pick it up, in case of a line of other people in front of you or the attendant on coffee break.
Are you suggesting a room without an attendant? I have not seen that but it is possible. The private lockers are long gone because of security fears that you would leave a bomb in your locker.
The luggage store is always manned during opening hours, and you need your passport to be able to leave and retrieve your luggage.
You won’t find lockers in stations due to security concerns Bologna sadly learned its lesson almost 40 years ago
It will be fine as like Roberto said there will be at attendant. We have left luggage at Naples and Milan train stations for over 5 hours with no problems. Will need your passport.
It is safe but sometimes there is a long line. I'm at the station every few weeks and sometimes there is no line and others days it's quite long.
Thank you all for the info!! 👍🏻
