Any suggestions for "must see/do" in Lecce and the area would be appreciated for late May.

Have you tried typing "Lecce" or "Puglia" in the Search window here to see earlier discussions? It's a good start. Best wishes.

John, we don't want the word to get out on how awesome Puglia and Lecce really is...so keep quiet! Lecce is a mini Sienna, a college town with a great central core, awesome lo-cost restaurants, and good shopping. (my wife packed her suitcase with lo-cost Italian shoes!) Pick up a Lonely Planet guidebook and do some reading. It was our "bible" when we spent some time there.
