Leaving luggage in private transfer car?

Hello! We hired a private transfer car from Napoli Station to Sorrento, with a stop in Pompeii. Do you think it’s advisable to leave our luggage in the private car or should we store them at Pompeii? Not even sure they have storage facilities at Pompeii. We are using a pretty reputable transfer car company with good reviews (Joe Banana Limos). Thanks!

No Pompeii luggage storage. Even if there was, these are often manned spaces with luggage stored with everyone elses. I would think a private transfer company is bonded and you will have the driver's details to report if necessary.
Either way, you want to lock any zipper that has anything in the compartment, and take your valuables with you if concerned.
The most paranoid would realize that even a locked zipper can be open with a pen. Perhaps they would put the zip head in an odd location and check that it is in the same location when removing luggage from the trunk....however, sometime one has to trust realizing that the bulk of humanity is honest.

There is luggage storage at Pompeii. There's free storage at the Porta Marina entrance and I believe paid storage at or near the Circumvesuviana stop. I've used the free storage without any problems whatsoever. You might ask your driver if he prefers that you store your luggage, but he'll probably suggest just leaving it in the trunk of the car. My guess is that the driver will have lunch or at least a coffee while waiting for you to tour Pompeii, but he'll also likely keep an keen eye on his car.

I stand corrected on the storage. I did a quick google check, but these are not what popped up first.
