My husband will be attending a conference in Rome for several days prior to our week of travel elsewhere in Italy. We will be returning to Rome to fly home (staying at a different hotel). He would like to avoid having to carry his business suits with him on our travels. Is there a way to store luggage for a week in Rome?
There probably is a way to store his clothes but I can’t help you with that. When in a similar situation I shipped some clothes home using Mail Boxes Etc, several locations in Rome.
Several such services to choose from. Prices range from €5 to €7 per bag per day. Bags-Free by Bon Bags even delivers it to you at your hotel or at the airport before departing.

Check with the hotel you are using at the end of the trip. They may store the luggage with the suits, perhaps for a fee, perhaps for free. If they do, that's most convenient way, so you won't have to make a special trip to retrieve anything and move it to your last hotel before departure.
It's certainly worth emailing them to ask - the worst they can do is say no!
I would contact the hotel where you are staying for the last part of your trip. They may be able to help you.
Mail them home. When we went to Italy in May, we were prepared for a variety of temperatures. Once there, it became very apparent that there was never going to be any cooler weather. We gathered up anything that we thought we wouldn't need plus any souvenirs purchased to that point, took them a to MailBoxes Etc and mail them home. They packed the box and it was at my house three days later. Once the box is gone, you never have to worry about it again for the rest of your trip. Maybe he could put it on his expense account?
Have used the luggage storage services in Rome in two different locations on two different occasions. There are several at many locations throughout the city. There are lockers where you place your clothing and you are charged by the day. Not a bad solution to your issue. Of course, if the hotel will hold them for you while you’re gone that might be better and potentially cheaper
