least visited part of calabria

We are about to travel to the tiny town of Bivongi,not far from Catanzaro,on the Ionian Coast.Anyone been there or close? We need info on transport,hotels/B&B et al.Stilo is the nearest coastal town.After a few days Sicily then north to Amalfi Coast. Rent a car? Any ideas? Bill

Depart Roma Termini at 6:45 ES train; Arrive Lamezia Terme Centrale 11:52. OR OR OR Depart Roma Termini 7:27 IC train; Arrive Lamezia Terme Centrale 13:00. Depart Lamezia Terme Centrale 13:13 "regionale" train; Arrive Monasterace-Stilo 14:45. Roma to Lamezia is 29 Euros on the ES train or 19 Euros on the IC train with the "Promo Autunno" promotional rate. Buy ticket no later than midnight of the day before travel. Capacity controlled. Regular fares are higher. Lamezia to Monasterace-Stilo is 5.00 Euros on the "regionale" train. The Monasterace train station is about 15 kilometers from Stile. A car is definitely recommended in Calabria and Sicily but the recommendation would be to rent it once you're in the area. Train into the area would likely be more practical, depends on where you are arriving and what period. When are you coming and which is your starting point? It is best to avoid driving from Naples to Calabria during the summer, too much traffic on the Reggio-Calabria road.
