I did not realize that you could climb the tower. Is it necessary to buy tickets on line/in advence? How much are they?

Depending on when you go, the line up to buy tickets can be long. Also, you buy your ticket for a specific time and depending on how busy it is, that time can be a couple hours wait - not really a problem unless you have a train to catch!
