Has anyone travelled around and or stayed in this region of Italy? If you have, do you have any recommendations or comments. I will be travelling with my family - husband, 14yo daughter, 12 yo son and another family with children the same age plus a 10year old daughter. we intend to base ourselves somewhere in Italy for a week - preferably a place with a pool and do day trips plus relaxing. Thank you.
Type Le Marche into the search box on the upper right hand corner of the Helpline page. You'll see the answers to a number of similar queries over the last few months. One thing I'm sure the kids will love is the Frasassi Caves. They are astounding, and there are tours in English. The Touring Club of Italy publishes a guide to Le Marche in English, which you might want to get. Traveling with children is different from what we've done. The guide would help you pinpoint some destinations that will appeal to them. Just be sure, when picking a place to stay, that you remember that in Le Marche the east/west roads go through mountainous terrain. Allow for that when figuring how long a drive will take. Viamichelin is good for getting approximate driving times between places. We found www.karenbrown.com a good source for lodgings in that region.
Hello,
I live in the south part of the Marche Region, the province of Ascoli Piceno.
I suggest you to have a look at the internet site: www.marchebreaks.com in my opinion is the most complete guide to this wonderful part of italy.
If you have any specific request you can write directly to me.
Have a good stay in Le Marche
Thank you both for your suggestions. I will follow up your ideas.
Cheers
Rosemary
I have a small house in Santa Vittoria in Matenano
If you want a pool try Le Ginestra hotel in Montelparo if not the best in our area is the Farfense Hotel in Santa Vottoria.
Best wishes
