layover time

Trying to book a flight from Venice to Omaha Ne in May. Several flights leaving Venice. 6:30am (to early) 10:30am and 1:30 pm. Would prefer the 1:30 departure. Is a layover in Munich of 1 h 35 min enough time to get to the flight back to USA?

We are not checking bags. Otherwise 6:30 am has a 4 hr layover but that is a 3:30am taxi pickup.

If it is a single ticket, the airline has determined it is adequate, otherwise they are stuck with getting you on another flight and likely paying some sort of compensation.

If you are piecing together separate flights/ticketing, you are playing with a grenade with no pin.

Not sure I understand what you are saying? Is that a yes or No way?

It is being booked with United.

I've never used Munich airport so I can't answer that part of the question but I can confirm that 6:30 is way too early for Venice. The logistics of getting to the airport from Venice make 8:30 - the flight I have to take - too early so I can't even imagine a 6:30 flight.
The owner of our BnB called an 8:00am flight out of Venice "inhumane" and I'm inclined to agree.

My guess is if you're conservative take the 10:30 and 1:30 if you're a risk taker. But I'll let someone with more experience in Munich answer for sure.

Have a great trip,

What Joe32 means is....

if you are booking this together as a Venice to Omaha ticket that happens to have a layover in Munich it is known as a single ticket. Then, if you miss the flight out of Munich to no fault of your own, United is not only responsible for getting you to Omaha but may have to offer compensation. If they offer this as a viable connection, then they feel it can be done.

However, if you are buying two separate tickets...Venice to Munich and Munich to Omaha then you are not protected if you miss the connection.

In Munich you will go through exit immigration.

If you are taking the VCE-MUC-DEN-OMA routing I see on the UAL site departing VCE at 130PM and arriving OMA at 1139PM, that is a single ticket and a safe choice for your situation.

I flew out of Venice (VCE) this past November on a 6:55 AM flight. The taxi driver who picked me up at 4:00 AM for a quick retention minute ride to the airport advised me that next time I fly from there that the absolute maximum time needed was two hours. The airport is quite small (efficiently run) and the checkin desks did not open until 5:00 for my airline. After checkin and security I had an additional hour to twiddle around. Notwithstanding, a lot of passengers were there early just waiting for desks to open. Some airlines were already processing folk probable due to flights earlier than mine.
