I'm leaving in a week and a half on an Alitalia flight from LAX to FCO with a Delta ticket. I'm somewhat confused as to where I check in, Delta or Alitalia. I fly first from Sacramento to LAX. Will Delta check me in for both flights - I'm sure I'll have to move to the International Terminal. Anyone with similar experiences?
Why not call Delta? I would trust them over what someone happened to post on a bulletin board.
I actually called Delta today about something else, and they said to call Alitalia, who said to call Delta, who said to call... you get the picture.
I'm flying Delta codeshares SFO to Paris, and Florence to SFO, leaving in a couple of days. I'm having the same problems with Alitalia, with each airline referring me to the other. As I understand it, I'm checking in at Delta (with all segments being codeshares with other airlines), but the only segment with a run-around is the one flown by Alitalia. I'm just planning to get to the airports as early as possible, in case I need to make some sprints around the terminals. I'm also planning to avoid Alitalia in the future. Their customer service was truly the rudest I've ever confronted in any industry... the rep actually yelled at me when I asked to speak to a supervisor, and refused to let me speak to a supervisor or anyone else. Lesson learned
Oh great, I'm taking the same flight on Saturday.... I guess I should find out what we have to deal with before we get there1 Thanks bill for posting this question!
Bill, When you check in for your flight in Sacramento your bags will be checked through to Rome and you will receive a boarding pass for the flight from LAX to FCO with gate info. Go to the gate on the boarding pass. If it is the flight at 3:25pm it is a flight operated by Alitalia that is a code share with Delta. It will most likely be an Alitalia plane and crew but
just go to the gate listed on your boarding pass.
