Travelling through Sicily in just over a week and will need to do laundry around the time we are in Ortigia. Does anyone know where we could do laundry? I saw an old travel forum post - about 12 years ago - that mentioned an American couple who owned a landromat in Ortigia but I couldn't find anything recent.

Open google maps of Ortigia, look for laundry in the search bar…looks like there are 4.

Google the hotel you plan on staying at. Click on the map for the hotel, click on “nearby” and type in lavandaria or laundromat in the search bar. It should show you the location of your hotel and various laundromats in the vicinity. You can click on the individual websites to see if they are self serve or full service. The hotel you are staying at may also offer that service but I have found that our laundry came back quite wrinkled and roughly folded when we used the hotel service. I would prefer to use a self serve laundry and have done so before in Rome for example. Doing it yourself just takes some time out of your trip but it beats sink washing. If you are doing a self serve laundromat get there early in the day as they can become busy making your wait time longer.

I haven't been to that location, but found them to be clean and fast in other places.
