Hi everyone,
Has anyone here used a laundry service in Rome? Our hotel was wishy washy on if we could pay for it through them.
Has anyone sent out laundry during an extended stay in Rome? We’re staying in Campo. Thanks!
Hi everyone,

I assume by “Campo” you mean Campo de’ Fiori? There was a laundry in the market square on the north side. I used it some years ago but as I haven’t been there now for three years, I suppose it might have changed. It was next to the salumeria and the bookstore, Fahrenheit 451, there. They are (were?) full service. Wheel in your suitcase in the morning and pick it up, washed, dried, folded, that evening.
Since you have an extended stay if you are able to walk to one nearby why not go to the laundromat yourself if there is one in the neighborhood?
We did that on our last trip (it took about 1 hour 30 min for is to wash dry and fold our clothes) and on other trips to cities in Europe. Google laundromats near me and go to the nearest. After we saw how much it costs for the hotel to do it for us and compared it doing it ourselves it was no brainer
Thank you, Laurel.
Jazz - I’m more than happy to pay for someone else to do the laundry for me and not have to sit there myself and do it.
I've done both - do it myself and have someone else do it. My preference now is to do it myself because I have met the most interesting people! I take a book (usually RS), sit outside and seldom get beyond the first page before people stop to share their thoughts. You know how dramatic the Italians can be? It's true! I've had several people waving their arms, talking loudly and everyone having a great time comparing or contradicting each other's recommendations. I'll take my RS book to restaurants - it has happened that the owner (or someone) will take the book, show me their listing, and autograph it for me. I guess my recommendation would be to put yourself out in the open and let the Italians make your trip far more than sightseeing!
Boy, are you in luck. There's a Lavasecco right in CDF that has a drop off bundle service. It's a bit pricey but worth it for the convenience. You drop off your clothes and pay up front. If you drop it off first then, they will be ready the next day. They will wash, dry and fold them nicely for you.
Here it is in a 360 degree view: https://goo.gl/maps/frWHzngsdYcz5cKN7
Mind you, that photo is from August 2017, so it's possible they're gone. What hotel are you staying at? Is it literally right in the Campo?
There appears to be another one nearby, at Vicolo del Gallo, 20. https://goo.gl/maps/qJvhRWUdPWqyqSZs8
Don't be put off by the exterior. A lot of Rome looks like that.
Robert,
I love that idea. I do build into each of our trips some time to just "people watch."
Michael,
Thank you. That's great. We're staying near the Ponte Sisto
