Laundry service in Venice

Where is your hotel exactly?

Your hotel should be able to give you that information. It is easy to find a self-serve place - most have everything you need. One time I went across the Giudecca Canal and did laundry, took a book, sat outside (right on the water). Never opened the book - locals who walked by stopped to talk. Best afternoon I have spent in years of visiting Venice.

hotel is near Zattere. Google search yields only 2 places. Perhaps wash & fold is not a thing in Venice?

The proper search term is lavanderia, and there are many but you're right the Dorsoduro/Accademia area is not showing much. The Lavasecco Ai Carmini is closest according to Google at a 14 or so minute walk at Sestiere Dorsoduro, 3465.

Lavanderia can mean self or service - and many places offer both - so it takes a little investigation and there may well be a closer one. We usually use Effe Erre Laundry which is a self laundry place but it's far from Dorsoduro.

If your hotel in Venice doesn’t offer laundry, the easiest approach is to look for a “lavanderia” or “tintoria” nearby. These are the Italian terms for laundry shops and dry cleaners, and many of them will either do wash-and-fold for you or at least help with it.

A couple examples you might come across while searching:

Effe Erre Laundry
Lavanderia self service
Lavanderia La Solerte

But honestly, in Venice the best strategy is simply knowing what to look for, because many small neighborhood places offer similar services.
