Laundry in Siena

Our stop in Siena will be time for us to get some laundry done before we run out of clean clothes! We'd prefer to drop it off somewhere and pick it up the next day. Any suggestions for places? We are staying at Hotel Athena. I found Lavanderia La Torre, but looking for feedback on any places people used. Will be about 1 weeks worth of clothes each, so not something I want to have the hotel do, especially if they charge by the item! :-)

Thanks!

Have you asked your hotel what they charge?
It’s usually “by the bag” for about 15 euros in my experience
We just wash unders and sox, you can stuff all of that into 1 bag
Unless you’ve really made a mess- shirts and pants don’t need laundering after just a week.

We did find a service wash in Siena. My memory fails as htis was 3+ years ago. I have reason to believe it may have been Lavenderia San Pietro. The location appears to be correct, I recall that we had a healthy and winding walk south from our lodging, which was Antica Residenza and north of the Campo.

Thanks all, I'll check those out. I've also reached out to the hotel for options. :-)

We dropped our laundry at Lavanderia Europa, just down the block on Via delle Terme from Antica Residenza Cicogna (a charming 7-room medieval B&B, where we stayed), and picked it up the next day. As I recall (it was October 2019) it was reasonably priced and everything was nicely folded.

Thanks Frank Z!

I heard back from Hotel Athena and they are affiliated with a laundry service that charges about 7 Euro per kg of wash (3kg minimum). They aren't open Saturday or Sunday, which is our first couple of days there. I'll check out your option too Frank. Much appreciated!

I'm a bit of an oddball, but I've always made "laundry day" an event during my travels. I arrive early, pack as many machines as possible then grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Back to throw in the dryer. Folded and back to the apartment in 90 minutes or so. By that time my wife is up and ready to head out for the day! Always a great way to meet locals as well.
