Seems I have time to revisit many things on this trip planned now for 2023 thanks to Covid. Organizing this for three couples. Wanting to go last week or so in May and first week in June because I just can't wait until September. I know Piedmont is glorious in the fall. Here too in Canada. But am I forsaking the beauty of nature, flora, fauna, aesthetics in a hurry to get this vacation on?
We were in the Piemonte in June and weather was very nice. Not hot. We stayed in Alba and easily drove to surrounding wine villages. It was one of our favorite trips, much less crowded than Tuscany. We drove there from Nice and continued to the Dolomites, Lake Garda, Bologna and Tuscany after the Piemonte., one of our lengthier trips.
We were in Alba in November 2019 for the truffle festival. It was chilly, but beautiful. We did have a few days of rain, but nothing that ruined our trip. I generally prefer to travel in the off-season for fewer crowds and cheaper flights. But I'm sure Piedmont in June will be beautiful too! Maybe you just need to go twice haha :)
Twice would be nice. Cant wait!!
Think I will stick with late May earlyJune rather than September.
