My friend are I are visiting the Amalfi Coast for a few days in late May / early June. We'll likely take the ferry from Capri to Positano late afternoon / early evening and want time to explore Positano before heading to our AirBnb / hotel in Praiano. It looks like the last bus leaves Positano around 7:50 / 8:00 p.m., and I'm wondering what other options there are to travel to Praiano if we stay in Positano until around 10 or 11 p.m. We will not have our own car. It seems like maybe a taxi is our only option, but I have read it can be hard to find taxis in Positano. Does anyone have advice on late night travel from Positano to Praiano? Alternatively we could stay in Positano, but the AirBnb / hotel rates are just so high there. Also, is travel on the curvy roads of Amalfi Coast risker after dark and something to avoid? I'm wondering if that's why buses don't seem to run late.
I'm also curious if people have experience staying in Praiano and if the buses are often full by the time they stop there or if that likely won't be much of an issue if we want to catch the bus to Positano or Amalfi the next morning? Our goal is to travel by bus or ferry as much as possible because taxis or private cars will likely exceed our budget. If we venture down to Amalfi, we'll likely take a ferry back to Positano. Thank you for any insight you can share!
