Late Night Taxi's in Rome?

Hi,
I would appreciate it if anyone had any info on late night taxi's in Rome. There are some jazz places i want to check out in Monti and Tridente and I would be heading back to Prati after midnight. The night buses really do not go where I am staying. Are there taxi stands (ranks) at or near the Metro stations like Spagna and Cavour? Thanks!

Yes there are cab stands at Piazza di Spagna, but not by the Metro station really, and for Monti you have to go to the Colosseo or up to Santa Maria Maggiore. You can use this map to zero in on an area and look for taxi stands. It is now also legal (previously not) to flag a cab in the street, but that is hit-or-miss late at night.

When we are out late I call or text for a taxi to come to the door of the restaurant. If you have a phone that works in Italy, you can do that. Send an SMS to 3666730000 that says Roma via Vittorio Veneto 119 with no punctuation and obviously substituting your street name and number. You can also ask the restaurant or club to call for you. It is not an imposition at all to ask them to do so.

Hi Margaret,
I think the best thing to do is carry a taxi phone number with you and call them from the club, or maybe ask the club to call one for you if you don't have a phone. I don't recall seeing taxis hanging around at that hour, but maybe I just wasn't looking. They are definitely many more cabs around then night busses! : ) Monti can be somewhat desolate at night, unlike Spagna. Good luck!
