Hi, I'm planning on being in Lucca the night of the Luminaria Santa Croce Fest (13 sept)and will be needing a taxi ride to florence after midnite. Will it be hard to find a taxi at that time, and will it cost a small fortune? I don't know of any other late night transportation options. Any suggestions?

Michael, there's a bus (actually, 2 buses) on Trenitalia.com (the Italian train website); Bus #52 leaves at 00:24, gets to Pisa at 01:07, Bus #54 departs Pisa at 01:12, and arrives at Florence SMN (train stn/buses) at 02:49.........Otherwise, you'll need to wait until 05:05 for Train #3021 (no connections; 1hr32mins long).........I realize that's cutting it pretty close, but it may be an feasable option for you. I have no idea about the cost of a taxi.
