I am arriving after 9pm on a Thursday night into Florence airport. I am staying at the Gold Apartment on Via del Corso n 9 and am traveling alone because I'm staying in Florence for 6 weeks. Are the taxi drivers trustworthy? Is there anything I should be aware of?

9 PM is not late night in Florence and you should have no difficulty. You should be aware that you will get to stay in one of the most beautiful cities in the world for 6 weeks!!

My sister and I took a cab from our hotel in downtown Florence very very early in the morning. The hotel booked the cab. (we are in our late 50's). We had no problems, never felt threatened. The city was deserted. I don't think we saw one other car though on the entire trip, and the driver went really fast, though he drove well. The ride was great! You will not have the same experience, but I'd guess your driver will be OK too.
