Late Arrival Naples

We are scheduled to arrive NAP 10pm (Early October). Curious if anyone has advice re: transport from the airport at night? Don't know the clearance process but expect it could be an hour or two. Concerned about safety since we are active seniors and have never visited Naples. Thanks in advance!

We used Aldo Limos, private car service, from the Naples train station to Sorrento. Where are you going to?

Many hotels can arrange a pickup taxi/car. We have arrived late at night and felt safe both at the airport and near our hotel.

Arriving from where? What is the departure point of the plane that lands in Naples?

The answer to this question has a direct bearing on how long ( or if) you have to spend in 'clearance processing'

We are working on our itinerary for Sicily and Amalfi Coast with Naples top sights and as transport hub. Thanks for the idea of hotel shuttle. We have been focusing on AirBnb and didn't consider that.

I arrived at Naples airport last October at 22:40. I just had my hotel make the arrangement. It worked fine, no problems, safe and easy.

I am arriving in Naples late this coming August. My travel agent said her local Italian contact advised against the train especially at night. I am scheduled to be picked up by a private driver she recommended (I used a private driver in Paris for airport pickup, it's much easier after a long flight when you're tired and the last thing you want to do is drag luggage around on public transit):

He required a 30 Euro deposit, the balance in cash when I arrive. Obviously, I have not used him yet but so far my travel agent has been excellent.

Note that your hotel restaurant, if any, will be closed when you arrive, so eat on the way. We had a nice Naples visit the next morning (including the Archaeology Museum), before going to Sorrento for a longer stay. Also flying from U.K., following the Chelsea Flower Show.

We arrived by plane at 8:35PM, and simply took a taxi from the Naples airport. He improperly demanded a few Euros for the bags, which are included in the legal flat rate, but I think I just paid it. I don't believe the Metro goes to the airport, so you won't have a train to consider. I believe a fully-labelled taxi at the Naples airport is "safe", from a personal safety point of view.
