We are renting Casa Rossa just south of Florence in September. in the comments Lastra a Signa is mentioned. Is this the nearest village? What public transportation is available there to get us to and from train station in Florence. Is there bus service? train? Could I get a schedule before I leave US? I got very little when I googled it.
Wanda = we need some help here...
Casa Rossa, literally means red house and frankly there's a gazillion of them scattered around the Tuscan countryside and it looks like half of them are for rent. So if you have a website for them that would be helpful.
But in reality, your first line of inquiry should be the folks you are renting from. They should be able to answer those questions.
Then maybe come back and see if anyone has any ideas. Owners sometimes tend to exagerrate how close they are to things, etc
FlorenceVillas.com, then Casa Rossa. I have emailed our contact from this website, but have had no reply. My concern is how far is this farm from the village, like was mentioned, hoping owners have not exaggerated that it's "close" to public transportation!
There's probably a bus line that runs somewhere within what an Italian would describe as walking distance, but do you realize that in your situation most people rent a car? You don't want to be relying on a bus to get everywhere, since you'll end up spending a huge portion of your time in Italy riding a bus or waiting for a bus.
