We couldn't get tickets for The Last Supper in July so are looking for a tour company that has tickets. Any recommendations for companies with good guides and reasonable rates? We'd consider a three-hour tour that includes other sights.
I had the same issue last June. My guess is that the tour companies snatch up most of the tickets when they are released, then package them with their tours. I looked on Viator and found numerous options for tours the only day I had available (the chapel is closed on Mondays). I settled on an offering by Florencetown tours, and was delighted by the result. I did not do the walking tour option, just the one hour at the church. It consisted of a pre-entry talk outside the church, about Leonardo and the history of the painting. Then entry into the air lock, followed by our fifteen minutes in front of the painting. The guide provided a wireless audio system. Although all I really wanted was a way to get in to see the painting, the lecture made for a much more enjoyable experience.
