Last supper tickets help

Hi, I am travelling with my family of 4 in June. Today, the first day that tickets opened for our date, when I went online, there were only 4 tickets left for the entire day. I booked 2 that were together at 15:15, but am wondering what my options are. Did these go so fast due to tour groups or are there scalpers involved?? If I call (Rick's book says more available by phone but the time zone issues between Califonia and Milan are a factor), will I be able to get two more tickets? Will this be more likely the closer the date gets as cancellations happen? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance,
Kaye from Folsom

Hi Kaye, What dates were you looking for? Do you just have one specific day that you can go? I checked the website for the Last Supper tickets and there are tickets available throughout the month of June.

We're going June 6 (only day in Milan), and as I said, I got two tickets together at 3:15 but only other ones on website are single tickets in the morning. Just wondering if I can count on getting more near 3:15, whether to eat my cost and go with a tour group...doesn't look like the tickets I have can be cancelled. Kaye,

Hi, OK. I can see the hours on the website for that date - only three postings and all at different time slots. Personally I would try booking by phone - time zone notwithstanding. I think there is a 9 hour time difference for us on the west coast of the US. Mary

Hi Kaye,
I know how you feel, I stayed up till midnight to call, made over 100 phone calls (cleared my wifes phone history :) ), three times I got thru but it dropped the call after 3 minutes. On the forth time (1am) the operator come on and I was able to book on the phone for June 2. There are tours that have time slots available, you will pay more but you may be able to get 2 for the same time. Google last supper tours and see if any purchased tickets for your slot. It's a reach but you may get lucky. Good luck.

We're going to see the Last Supper in early May. I called the first day those tickets were available and got them (had to make about 50 calls to get through). I found that the web site was not be as accurate as it should be. Calling is the best way to go. They were helpful and spoke pretty good English. Good luck,
Dan

I decided that since I will be short of time and would like to see several things in Milan - including the last Supper.....I bought tickets on a city tour that includes the Last Supper, La Scala (and museum), walking tour of Milan .... It was about $45. (Tour groups have bulk tickets available.) I know that is a lot - but I'm limited on time.
I used Viatours - heard they are a broker and assign smaller tour companies and local guides to do the actual tours. They had good reviews on other sites. I'm thinking about using them in Rome for the Vatican also.

There is thrifty and there is cheap. Thrifty is using your time, your energy, and your good humor to accomplish what you want to do in the best financial amount available. Cheap is stressing yourself out, missing important, once in a lifetime events, and dumbing down an experience simply to save money. I think you found an excellent solution and I hope you will quit beating yourslef up over spending more than the printed ticket price and instead think about how smart you were to accomplish what you wanted to do and expose your family to something so wonderful. For what it's worth- I have gone cheap twice in my travels and regretted both and The Last Supper is the only piece of art to move me to such a level that I had to go sit down. Enjoy!

Thank you to all you smart travelers. With your guidance I was able to secure 4 tickets and will be enjoying some time with my kids and a great work of art. I really appreciate it. Kaye

Yvonne, I ended up using Tickitaly.com. If you search "last supper tickets" you should get two or three companies that per purchase tickets and combine them with more expensive tours of 2-3 hours. Good Luck. Kaye

There are only two of us needing tickets for June 21 in the late afternoon. However, I have checked two sites with no tickets available. What are the sites that you find June tickets? Thanks.
