I'm travelling to Milan end of December 2017. I'm trying to book the tickets to view the Last Supper directly from vivaticket.it.

I can see that they have tickets available only for few days in September.
Does it mean that the tickets are sold out for the rest of the year?
How many days before do they release tickets for reservation?
Tickets for October and further are not yet for sale.
Normally they come for sale about 3 months before, but this year has been different and there aren't many news... Keep checking until they update info.
I just called them this morning and the answering message says tickets for October are still not for sale. I spoke to a representative and she said she did not know when the October tickets would be released, nor did she know why they were still holding them back. So I don't think the December tickets are sold, just not yet released. I check the website every day as my trip is only 3 weeks away.

My husband started looking for tickets for late September back in April. Only summer tickets went on sale back then, so he kept trying pretty regularly. September tickets didn't show up until late July - and then only a few days at a time. Once they started showing up for dates a week or two before the one we wanted, he started looking for them daily - but very early each morning. His persistence paid off - he finally booked tickets at the end of last week! I'm not sure why the tickets aren't put up for sale on some regular schedule, but I'd suggest that you keep checking!
Finally today I see this on the website:
19th September: opening reservation for OCTOBER
28th September: opening reservation for NOVEMBER and DECEMBER

I presume this is Milan time:
19 September at 9.00 am: opening reservations OCTOBER
28th September 9.30: opening reservations NOVEMBER and DECEMBER
Today they opened up the tickets for November & December and I was able reserve my tickets!!
I had to wake up @ 9 AM Milan time and check for tickets.
The tickets were not released until around 9:20 AM.
One tip that I would give is that create you account in the website before you go to book the tickets.
It takes few minutes to create the account and you will need your passport or driving license number.
It's not clear if American driving license is acceptable.
