So I'm leaving for Italy in a couple weeks, and my last stop is Milan. Of course I need to see the Last Supper! My budget is pretty tight, so taking an expensive tour that includes this is not possible. I'd been checking the official website for months waiting for the November schedule to be added. Once I finally saw that it was up, the dates I am in Milan were unavailable! You can imagine my disappointment. I would have to call directly and hope for the best, but that would entail getting up early in the morning to call while the museum is open and I'm not overly fond of calling people anyway. But I decided late last night I was going to do it this morning and got online to find all the info I needed to place the call this morning. Lo and behold, there on the website were slots available for the dates I am there! YAY! But wow, the website is not the most user friendly, and the amount of info they require for a simple 15 minute visit to a church is astounding. But I've got an email stating I've bought a ticket so I think I'm all set, and I am thrilled.
The lesson? Things may not be straightforward, but dont give up. And now I have everything in place for my upcoming solo trip to Sorrento, Umbria/Tuscany, Venice and Milan. I'm very excited!
