Last Supper reservation quandry

Hi..Maybe someone can help me here.

We followed Rick Steve's advice and called and made reservations for the Last Supper a month or so ago. Rick's site says "the process takes about two minutes and you'll hang up with an appointed entry time and a number; can pay with cash or credit card upon arrival)."

We never received a confirmation email so today I called them back and they sent the email which said we must send them a bank transfer!

I quote from the email:

"You must pay within 30 days from the booking day, WRITING ONLY YOUR RESERVATION NUMBER ON THE BANK TRANSFER; please do not add names or anything else. Remember that your reservation is automatically cancelled 10 days before the date of the visit, if not paid. After the payment, you should send a copy of your bank transfer by fax to the number (+39) 041 27 70 747 in order to confirm your reservation.

Is this true? We are leaving for our trip on Monday and this would be an incredible hassle.

Has anyone been through this? What would you do?

Thanks!

I just received our family confirmation today via email. I booked 3 days ago on www.tickitaly.com.....so far seems effortless......
they emailed the voucher which I printed out and put in our travel folder.
good luck!

When I reserved last summer, I called and paid by credit card, I got an email confirmation after making the reservation, and then picked up the tickets when I arrived at the church. Nothing like the process you describe (although also not what RS describes, I guess). Did you make reservations directly or through a third party/tour company?

We made reservations directly as RS suggested. If I had known it would be a problem I would have paid by credit card on the phone (if I could). I'll try and call them again tomorrow. It's difficult because the line is constantly busy. Maybe I'll try ticketItaly.

Has anyone who is reading this booked directly as RS suggested?

I followed Rick's advice last year and it worked just as he describes--so I'm not sure what has happened in your case. You might want to click Contact Us below and contact Rick's staff directly?
