We will be coming from the Tuscany region on a Friday in September and flying out on Saturday morning at 620am from the Rome Fiumicino airport. The question is with such an early flight, should we stay by the airport or stay close to the train station? Point is we'd like to have our last evening in Rome but know if we did that we'd have to get up VERY early to make our flight. Can we still have a memorable evening by the airport? Any suggestions on hotel and a restaurant to enjoy our last evening in Rome by the airport?
Uhhhggg, I think we'll stay be the airport, so we would appreciate any suggestions on hotel and restaurant to enjoy our last night in Rome by the airport. Thank you.
Stay in Rome, anywhere in the city center, and enjoy your last night in Rome. Then catch a taxi early morn. The taxi ride is 30 min at that time with no traffic. You should be at the airport 75 to 90 min prior to departure, to be safe. So leave the hotel no later than 4:30 to be at the airport before 5am. There are no trains that early.
Here is Ron in Rome's very thorough discussion of the subject: http://tinyurl.com/3jr3b8z Personally, I'd stay in Rome and plan to take a taxi the next morning. Failing that, I'd stay at the Hilton right in the airport, and get there late, after a last dinner in Rome.
