I'm trying to get a train ticket from Monterosso Al Mar, Italy to Munich, Germany (preferably) tomorrow (April 5) and having trouble figuring out how to book tickets online. It seems pretty easy to get tickets online in Italy but when I try to book all the way through to Munich I can't select April 5 as a departure date on Trenitalia or Rail Europe. Is this because I needed a reservation a week in advance? If so, How does one get where you want to go if you haven't made reservations?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Since Monterosso is a small station, have you tried booking from La Spezia or Milan? Using Trenitalia, I just pulled La Spezia Centrale to Muenchen HBF for tomorrow and it gives me options leaving La Spezia in the afternoon.

Also, since you are already in Italy, the easiest thing might be to just go to the closest station and have them help you.

Many Thanks. I'm all set. I'm not entirely sure why I was having so much difficulty but it did seem to help using Muenchen instead of Munich. It also may have something to do with being over-tired and fine Italian wine.
Weather has been great, hiking was great, no real crowds to speak of... and you are great for lending a hand, Ciao!
