When we arrive back in Milan for our last night before flying home, I'm thinking we will arrive about noon. We will have already spent 2 nights in Milan at the top end of the trip. I'm looking for something interesting to do for the afternoon/evening. Is there a short excursion to a quaint place, with some local shopping maybe, or a very short train ride to a suberb.. Maybe an interesting neighborhood in Milan that is often overlooked? We will have already been to Bergamo and Treviglio on business. Thanks
I googled "cities near Milan" and it came up with a town called Pavia. It is about 20 miles southwest of Milan about 30 minutes by train. I looked at pictures and it looks very nice.
I've been to Milan twice and through or around several times. The Last Supper - and its booking issues - are top on my list, the area around the Cathedral (and its roof) and the Galleria next door are pretty much it for us there. Two and a half days would seem like sorta 2 days too much for us. Pavia has a Certosa I have been meaning to get to for years; it might be worth it if the transport works out.
Thanks... Sorry for the double posting... Did not receive any notifications and then could not even find the original posting ! This is helpful info.

On you last evening Go to one of to the Navigli restaurants and have your "last supper". I heard in several of Rick Steves' shows that for the last supper you need to go to Milan. Not sure which restaurant he was referring to.
