Las Vegas-NYC-Venice-Amsterdam-Las Vegas

Hi,

My husband and adult children will be traveling to Europe for the first time ever at the end of January. We are flying from Las Vegas (home) to JFK and then onto Venice. Our return flight is from Venice to Amsterdam, where we have a 22-hour layover (by choice) and we are planning to see some of the city. My question is this...will we be able to retrieve our luggage when we arrive in Amsterdam since it's an overnight layover? The Venice to Amsterdam as well as the Amsterdam to Vegas flights are on KLM.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome to the forum!

When you check in at VCE ask to have your bags checked just thru AMS-shouldn’t be a problem
( but be prepared just in case by doing the below suggestion)

A better solution is to just carry on what litlle you might need for your overnight stay in a small bag

That seems like it would be an unnecessary hassle and delay both arriving and departing again, compared to just packing a change of clothes and very basic toiletries for your overnight stay in a carry on.

In case you decide to book a hotel, I can recommend the Hilton, that is very close to the airport. Also, the Sheraton is even closer.
Both hotels are walking distance and there is an indoor moving sidewalk that makes it easier if you drag luggage.
The Hilton was about $300 per night, but very nice.
