This will be our first trip using a laptop. Can anyone explain the mechanics of using one in the internet cafes>
Internet Cafes are typically for people who don't have computers. If what you are looking for is WiFi internet service, you don't necessarily need an internet cafe (although some do sell airtime). WiFi is widely available at places like hotels, airports, popular squares/parks, and some fast food type places like McDonald's or Starbucks. All you need to do is turn-on the wireless capabilities of your laptop, open your browser, and you will see a screen from the ISP giving you payment options. WiFi is readily available in all cities; McDonald's and Starbucks usually give you 30 minutes for free with a purchase, reasonable rates after that.
thank you that is what i meant and your info is very helpful!
Also you may well find that the hotels you stay in will have wifi too.
