Does Walmart have this? Or? I am in Seattle! Help:) Suggestions please. I have a Dell laptop and I am confused at the store with all options.

You shouldn't need a converter as most all electronics are dual voltage these days. Check the specs on your laptop, if it says something like "ac input 110v-240v", all you need is a simple plug adapter. They are sold on this website for only $1.00...click the "travel store" tab above.

Wow!! Thank you!!!! This is such a relief and sounded so complicated.... WE leave tonight. Yes, I waited to the last minute. I have a Dell purchased 2 years ago. Laptop.
I will check when I leave work and go home to pack and fly out.

You're welcome. Since you're leaving tonight, you can also get adapters at shops inside the airport terminals.
Cheers!

Make sure that you get one that is designed to work in Italy. Other Euro countries' plugs may not work in Italy.

What still has me puzzled...is why they have so many options...so it makes me think I will get the wrong one...geezer...Best Buy seems to have some.

Monique, the transformer on your laptop cord will work. You just need a plug adapter. The Hudsons News at SeaTac will have one that fits Italian outlets. Or you can get one in Italy at a Coop or any of the numerous electronics stores.

There are so many choices because of the same reason as there are so many kinds of cork screws. Back of the package should include Italy. If it includes more countries then you don't care. Worst case you pick the wrong one. Then you have an golden opportunity to go shopping in a Rome equivilant of Radio Shack. Gets you into the Real Life In Rome mode and out of the Tourist Mode.

Monique, Although most electronic devices these days are configured for "world" operation, it would still a good idea to check the Laptop power supply to confirm that. Look on the Charger for the words Input Voltage. If this states "100-240 VAC", then the device will work fine in Europe with just a Plug Adapter. I realize you've probably already departed, but hopefully you'll have another look at this Thread before you connect your Laptop to the power system in Europe. Happy travels!

If you still haven't found an adaptor, check at the front desk of your hotel to see if they have any. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has left an adaptor plugged in when I checked out!

We bought a converter at REI. The adaptor for Italy came with it. Really needed it at the places we stayed in. The hotels did not supply them. Don't risk burning out your electrical appliances/computer/camera, etc.
