My husband and I will spend 5 weeks in Italy beginning mid September. We are interested in one week, half day private Italian lessons that focus on conversation . English is our first language, but we also speak some Spanish and have a command of Portuguese having lived in Brazil.

ABC school near palazzo vecchio. I’ve been there twice for a total of 7 weeks and it’s fabulous.

Inquire with your closest IIC or Italian Cultural Institute (an agency of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs). There are several offices in the US (and in every country). A list is below.

They should recommend an Italian school affiliated with the Institute in your area, and possibly a list of recommended schools in Florence.
Give it a try. My wife followed that route years ago with the IIC in San Francisco.
