Land taxi service in Venice

Looking to get from Piazzale Roma to the cruise port in Fusina via land taxi on October 31st. Our hotel is not able to arrange this, however www.veniceshuttle.it provides for booking a taxi ahead of time. I received a proposal for 75 Eu to be paid in advance, but with little detail on where to meet at P. Roma, how to find that cab when there, and what sort of time window they allow (Vaporetto may be delayed?)

Anyone used this service to book a taxi ahead of time?

I didn't use it in Venice but I think there is a "people mover" from near Pizzale Roma to the port too. The people mover tram whould be significantly cheaper. It's walkable but I under stand with luggage that is the problem. I think our taxi from the airport (25 minutes roughly)to the Pizzale was 60 ish so 75 for a very short trip doesn't seem right. I hope someone can expand on the people mover?

The previous post has some incorrect info.. Fusina, as you know, is on the mainland and couldn't be reached by the People Mover. If you are not taking the Viking transfer, which leaves from the Stazione Marittima, then you are likely best to just go to the taxi stand at P. Roma and take one of those taxis to the Fusina cruise terminal. Or take the train to Venice Mestre and then a taxi to Fusina ( likely the cheaper option).

Make sure your cruise does not require check-in at the cruise terminal at the mid-station on the people mover (Marittima Termina), then provide a bus to Fusina to board the ship. Many cruise ships do not allow boarding if you take a taxi directly to Fusina. You will have to check the details at your cruise line.

Thank you all. Viking only requires passengers who booked pre-trip accommodations through them to check in at the Marittima terminal where they board a bus to Fusina. As Independent travelers, we have to make our way independently to the ship at Fusina, where it's been confirmed we can board directly.

Wasn't sure if it was risky looking for a taxi at Piazzale Roma without reserving in advance. Should be book ahead or are texi's plentiful?
