My wife and I are traveling from Venice to the lake region in Italy in August for six days after which we will be heading back to Venice. We are trying to decide between sticking to one lake (we are leaning towards Garda) or splitting our time between two (Garda and Como). We are open to every suggestion. Any suggestions on itineraries? Thanks!
In your shoes I would stick to lake Garda only since you plan to go from Venice and return to Venice afterwards. Lake Como might have made sense if you were flying out of or at least visi Milan.
Lake Garda offers more activities than Como (Verona, gardaland theme park, auto safari, Valpolicella wine region). If you rent a car you could probably couple a visit to the Dolomites mountains, which are also near.
