Can anyone recommend a nice hotel or B&B in Stresa, Italy on Lake Maggiore, with lake view rooms for $200 or less per night, for a 3 night stay in early August 2016?

I've stayed at the Hotel Grand Dino in Baveno, three miles north of Stresa. Nice hotel right on the lake. Very nice grounds as well.

Stayed here last year. My room was on the side street facing the church next to it, but they also have rooms with the view of the lake (probably for a higher rate). It wasn't that expensive either, in spite of being early July (less than €150/night). Don't remember if I booked through their website or through hotels.com.
They have parking arrangements with the Regina Palace, a more expensive hotel just a couple of blocks away (in case you will have a car).
Book early. August is the busiest month.

I plan on staying on that same hotel that Roberto pointed out. My lake view room came out to 193€ for my 1 night stay (Hotels.com) and they offer free parking. Can't comment on it yet wont be there till mid October.

I stayed in Baveno (very close to Stresa) at Carillon Hotel. All rooms have lake view with small balcony. It is on the lake side of the road. Can also stay at Verbano on Isola Superiore Del Pescatori which is IN the lake. Hotel and restaurant together.

ViperTrek, you'll like the hotel, especially the great location in front of the ferry dock and the restaurant.
Parking is not far away. They don't have it in the premises, but they have an agreement with the Regina Palace Hotel (2 blocks north) which as a large two story parking structure.
Lots of nice restaurants, wine bars and beer places in the historical center behind the hotel too.
