We were planning to go from Lake Orta (after RS tour) to Malpensa airport, with stop in Milan to see the Last Supper. We were planning to take the train from Lake Orta to Milan and store our luggage at the train station. Is there storage at the main train station? Would it be cheaper and easier to arrange a taxi with another couple and be dropped off at the train station in Milan, instead of taking the train? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.
At the end of my RS tour, I took a taxi to the train station - very short ride.
"Trained" to Milano (I think there was 1 train change)..... it was several years ago.
But I remember it was very easy.
Did an overnight in Milan near the Central Train station and then train in the AM
to fly home. I always stay very close to the central train station in Milan.
Either the Hotel Berna or Garda (they are across the street from each other and
only a couple blocks from the Central train station.)
Yes - there is luggage storage at Centrale station - just ask an employee in the station
to direct you.
OOPS forgot to mention shared taxi
Some folks in my RS group got a van to Milan, the guide helped arrange it.
The hotel in Orta also had info on a car/van into Milan. I forget how much it was, but
was much cheaper for me to take the train - for 1 person
Our RS Tour Guide arranged vans for all of us who were going to Milan from Lake Orta. Most of us went to the central train station, with two couple going to Lenate Airport. I believe the cost per person was 30 Euro, but not sure if I'm remembering correctly. I think that the train from Orta to Milan requires a change.
